Irpinia, a historical region of the Campania Apennines, is a unique wine-growing area, where vineyards have always coexisted with fruit trees, woods, olive trees, aromatic herbs. An ancient land whose vineyards already find evidence in the texts of Pliny, Columella and Strabone.
The orographic configuration determines a wind regime that gives the region good rainfall and creates a microclimate that differentiates it from the Campania context: the vegetation is varied and dense. Winter, although short, is rigid and snowy and the summers are mild and prolonged.
“Dal Re” by Feudi di San Gregorio matures 6 months in barriques, stops briefly in steel vats and ages a further 6 months in the bottle.
Bright ruby red. The nose recalls small red fruits, such as black cherry and raspberry, liquorice and sweet spices. The taste is soft and balanced on the palate with convincing tannins. Fruity, herbaceous with a savoury note at the end
An excellent wine for drinking with the finest roasted red meats and poultry
